Sumario:Quantification and characterization of essential oils of Eucalyptus trees cultivated in Mendoza (Argentina). This paper presents data of essential oil contents extracted from leaves of 35 species of Eucalyptus sp. trees grown in Mendoza. The aim of this research was to determine the yield of essential oils and the content of cineol present in each sample, in order to evaluate the possibility to make commercial crops of Eucalytus trees in Mendoza for the profitable production essential oils. Leaves samples were distilled with saturated vapor (vapor stripping) for around 60 minutes. The extracted oil was analyzed by gas chromatography, and the amount of cineol and other chemical substances were determined by mass-spectography. The results obtained showed that there are a considerable variation both in volumes and in the cineol contents.
