description_str_mv A comparative assay was carried out with two coypus balanced leed. One 01 this was commercial of an unknown formula (CO) and the other formulated in the Agricultural Science College, University 01 Cuyo (FCA) with 17,9 % PB Y7,1 % FB, made on a small size pelletizer machine designed in the Institution. Two different experiments were done with 24 animals, half were males and hall females. The first was a 50 day factorial experiment to measure growth, the conversion mear meat and growing diference between the sexes. The 17,36 male daily gaining rate with CO and 26,6 with FCA results significantly different (p<0,05) wilh a 5.7: 1 male and a 4.7: 1 FCA male conversion. No significantly growing difference between the sexes was lound (p< 0,05) The second experiment was made inmediately afterwards with same animals to measure dry matter and diflerent nutrients components digestibility. The results were 71 % on dry matter and 68 % as nitrogent fraction. These values are somewhat smaller than those mentioned in previous researches. The digestive energy and the protein intake per head 01 135,3 9 of TND and 20,1 9 of CP for ca and 140,9 9 01 TND and 28,9 01 PB lor FCA show that the less growing rate achieved with the utilized commercial feed is mainly due to the scarcity of protein. The results also show that it is technically feasible to make balanced pelletized leed on farm with low cost.
