Sumario:It is known that high school education from an interdisciplinary perspective has been studied for some time. However, it may encounter problems when working in a real classroom environment. These obstacles are defined by the complexity of the educational system and also related to strong disciplinary teachers- training, to the structure and content from curriculum development and to the schools- organization. This project is aimed at reflecting upon the possibilities of approaching high school teaching through a cross-disciplinary perspective, on the basis of a specific problem- integrated priority such as environmental problems. On the one hand, it is expected that at the end, this project will check the impact on local curriculum development within possibilities and restrictions on implementing interdisciplinary proposals; specially emphasizing the role of Social Sciences. On the other hand, it also claims that the results from careful consideration on specific practices performed with thought-provoking topics such as environmental problems will represent a valuable contribution not only for technical teams which work on curriculum development, but also for teachers when planning and outlining good teaching methods.
