Sumario: | 37% of the irrigated area in Argentina suffers from salinity problems. In the western region of Argentina, where the province of Mendoza is located with the largest irrigated area in the country, the most limiting stress factors of crop production are water deficit and salinity. Mendoza owns 72% of the surface implanted with vine, for this reason it is very important to have genotypes in the vineyards that adapt efficiently to current and future conditions, as a consequence of climate change. The objective of this investigation is to evaluate the behavior in front of irrigation with saline waters in vine plants of different vinifera and American varieties generated from previously selected plants. For this reason, during the first year of this research, mother plants will be selected through ampelography and genetic markers. From the materials extracted from the selected mother plants plants will be produced in franc pots, and can be repeated with materials from the same individuals. There will also be a current diagnosis of the composition of saline waters in our province to simulate irrigation solutions that will be used in the trial. In the second year, the behavior of the selected genotypes will be evaluated against frequent irrigation with saline water in a greenhouse under controlled climatic conditions. The trial will have a completely random factorial design, where two factors will be evaluated: 8 treatments for the genotype factor (selected from a preliminary trial where its tolerance to an irrigation solution will be developed with NaCl), 2 treatments for the stress factor (irrigation with water without salt or witness and saline water); with four repetitions, giving a total of 64 plants. At the end, physiological variables will be studied and the tissues of the plant will be analyzed, evaluating the concentration of cations and anions. During the course of the test the analysis of the electrical conductivity of the solution of irrigation and drainage of the pots will be carried out periodically, as well as of the ionic composition of both solutions. |
