Sumario:Boron (B) is an essential microelement for plants. It intervenes in the growth of the pollen tube and therefore in the production of fruits and seeds. The levels between deficiency and excess are very narrow and therefore can cause symptoms of toxicity or decrease in yield due to high contents as well as deficiencies that affect the crop. The objective of the work is to determine the tolerance of garlic to boron applied in fertigation, evaluating the yield and quality, as well as the effect of B on the absorption of macroelements in the aerial part and the bulb. The trial will take place at the INTA Experimental Station La Consulta, San Carlos, Mendoza, Argentina. The treatments will be: 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 ppm of B equivalent in the irrigation water and the design will be in complete blocks at random with 4 repetitions. The irrigation will be carried out by drip with tape hoses with holes at 30 cm. The source used will be a 3% boric acid solution. The planting density will be 41 plants m-2. The harvest will take place approximately the first fortnight of December, pull up 1.6 m per plot leaving 20 cm from each end as a border. The harvested plants will be weighed fresh and then placed in a shady shed for drying and subsequent evaluation and sampling to perform B and macro nutrient analyzes on leaves and bulbs. Composite samples of soil of each treatment will be extracted to evaluate the content of B accumulated in the first 30 cm of soil, and the content of B in the irrigation water will be analyzed.
