Sumario:Horizontal tanks and pipes are basic structural components for industries such as petrochemical or petroleum ones. Usually these cylindrical components are placed in groups for different purposes like fluids or gases distribution or storage. Severe damage on these industrial layouts are inadmissible not only because the economic losses, but also because the human risk. Thus it is a great deal to determine the wind pressures on tanks and pipes considering the real interference between the cylindrical geometries and also the soil boundary near them. A typical interference case is two cylinders one behind the other, and near a plane boundary. The vortex sheet is significant different from the isolated cylinder typical study case. The pressure on the cylindrical structures needs to be carefully studied as a consequence of those interferences. The wind pressure on cylindrical tanks and pipes placed in groups near the soil is the principal objective of this study. The scale adaptive simulation is adopted for the turbulence treatment in the finite volume numerical model of the Reynolds average Navier Stokes equations.
