Sumario: | Clusters, also known as conglomerates, are geographical concentrations of interconnected companies of specialized suppliers, service providers, companies in related sectors and support that compete and cooperate with each other, as Porter (1998) points out. This dynamic manages to shape a model of regional development, constituting in itself a true strategy to strengthen the micro and small industry. In a cluster different actors participate, such as companies that constitute the backward links, constituted by the suppliers and who are the links in the forward direction, that is, the distribution channels and the clients. On the other hand, there are side links, made up of related industry companies, such as those that have to do with certain inputs or technologies and other complementary industries.Other institutions also participate in the Cluster: centers of knowledge, information, capital, business chambers and, of course, the State, as well as some management body.In this sense, it is possible to establish diverse collaborative relationships, both vertical, analyzing the supply chain, also called supply chain, and horizontal among the competing companies of the sector, establishing alliances in order to exploit a market opportunity.Among the aspects to be considered in order to analyze a cluster, it is necessary to take into account the size and life cycle, the type of company, its degree of geographic concentration, the socio-economic importance, the degree of collaboration between companies, the presence of cameras, associations, technological centers, if there is specialized infrastructure and the development initiatives that exist on the part of the State. Synthesizing, a cluster constitutes an interorganizational system whose global value is greater than the sum of its parts. |
