Sumario:Education and training emerge as fundamental pillars in determining the job offer. The importance of quality education and employment is evident in that these not only impact on the overall efficiency of the economy, but also constitute the main mechanisms of inclusion and social mobility. The working conditions of the population are reflected in the quality of life, as attested by the joint evolution of poverty rates and labor difficulties (unemployment and underemployment), which peaked in 2002, before falling and parking at levels close to those of the early nineties. This scenario is reproduced at the territorial level, with the poorest provinces having the most unfavorable indicators in the labor market.Employment problems are usually referenced by unemployment and poverty rates, which can be seen if one looks at the socioeconomic situation of the poorest provinces of Argentina. This project proposes that labor problems in Argentina are the result of rigidities in both supply and demand for employment. In this study, however, attention will be focused on issues related to the supply of labor, in particular, the mechanisms of human capital formation. As mentioned, the importance of quality education and employment lies in the fact that these are not only part of the productive process, as a factor of production, but also are the main weapons for the fight against poverty and social mobility.
