description_str_mv Coronavirus infection has been considered by the WHO as a pandemic. The first outbreak of pneumonia due to COVID-19 originated in Wuhan’s city in late December 2019. Since then, the infection has spread rapidly to the world. Epidemiological studies show that the population at most significant risk in terms of symptoms and complications is those over 60 years of age, although the population that acts as the vector of the infection to a greater extent is between 25-30 years. The pandemic made visible a vulnerable risk group comprised of older people. The appearance of the virus was necessary for us to reflect on them. Many questions arise from dentistry, such as old age myths, dental approach, the implications of oral diseases on comorbidity, mortality, and/or vulnerability. This review aims to address the role of the dentist in the health and quality of life of older adults in the face of the COVID-19 contingency.
