Sumario:Histoplasmosis is a rare fungal infection and to a lesser extent in immunocompetent patients, it is caused by the fungus Histoplasma Capsulatum, endemic in America in tropical and subtropical areas. It is a systemic fungal disease that takes various clinical forms, including oral lesions, which can be difficult to distinguish from squamous cell carcinoma. Sometimes microorganisms are scarce and not easily identified, which prevents early diagnosis and proper management. We present a case of Histoplasmosis in a 63-year-old immunocompetent patient with oral ulcers. It was confirmed by biopsy of the lesions and subsequent histopathology and culture study.
