Sumario:According to Aristotelian epistemology, there are several forms of knowing the world. We deal here with the poetic form. Although Thomas Aquinas did not comment on Aristotle’s Poetics, by reading other parts of his work we are able to make out some of his thoughts about this type of knowledge. Following Aristotelian epistemological criteria, we analize the degree of certainty proper to poetic theoretical knoweldge and the nobility of the object studied by it. Aristotle’s Poetics will help us in finding out which are the most important issues, and, with the aid of this framework, we will outline a possible research within Thomasic philosophy.
