Sumario:A study of an abstract of record was carried out in order to verify the presence of tooth injuries in legal disputes and to corroborate whether the scales were used properly. Given that there is an important percentage of cases in which there was no tooth loss but there was an injury and given that there isn’t any scale that includes these cases, there is a need to create a new scale, or to modify the existing ones in order to include not just the total loss of a tooth, but also the traumas that don't cause the total loss of a tooth but do cause an injury, because these represent an important disability, both for chewing and speaking, as well as an aesthetic problem. It is proposed to modify the existing scales or to create a new one including the following assessment: - In case of tooth fracture with injury in the pulp and of trauma that causes loss of pulp vitality, for the total loss of the tooth allocate a 50% of disability from the values displayed by the already existing scales (Bertini, Briñon, etc.). In case of tooth fracture without loss of vitality, allocate a 25% from the values displayed by the already existing scales.
