Sumario: | As a contribution to the study of floral biology of wine in Mendoza, a morphological and physiological study of the flower has been made.
In accordance with the results a practical classification has been accomplished, grouping the varieties in 6 floral types.
The improvement of the varieties of imperfect fertilization is intended by means of clonal selection
1º) Staminate flowers, functionally masculine with atrophic pistil.
2º) Pistillate flowers, functionally female, with short and spiral-shaped stamen.
3º) Flowers functionally female, but occasionally androgyne.
4º) Flowers functionally hermaphrodite, imperfect, with thin stamen, shorter tham normal, and in certain cases slightly spiraled.
5º) Androgyne flowers functionally perfect, with normal stamen and pistil.
6º) Androgyne flowers, with imperfect pistil and ovuls, that originate parthenocarpic or stenopermocarpic fruits. |
