Sumario:By passing National Law 25.438/ 2001, Argentina ratified its commitment to the Kyoto Protocol at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climatic Change. As a non- annex I Party to the Convention, Argentina is bound to reduce or at least not to increase its greenhouse gas emissions. In the field of renewable energy power generation , National Law 26190/ 2006 which was specifically designed and sanctioned to promote RES-E generation, failed to fulfil its goals, and today only minor results can be shown, and these mainly attained through alternative regulations. This report studies the existing conditions and redesigns national support policy for RES-E generation in order to attain and maximize sustained deployment. For this purpose it counts and classifies the current RES-E generation projects , reviews the current support schemes and identifies barriers. Once these parameters have been clearly understood, it continues in selecting and arranging the seemingly most adequate market focused and stakeholder inclusive support scheme constrained to the current setting. It further proposes seven main guidelines to a new and more adequate RES-E generation law
