Sumario: | Multiple are the examples in Spanish contemporary books and films that present gender in relation to different hegemonic discourses. Especially in the so-called move of the 80s that produced, not without due scandal, new identity proposals that exceed the parameters of what culturally represent the masculine and the feminine.
Within this frame, the present research analyzes the sexuality construction and attributes of the feminine gender in two novels and one film that, from the margin of new esthetic productions, have renewed the panorama of cultural proposals in Spain. The first is about the young adult, Lulu, in Las edades de Lulú a novel by Almudena Grandes (1989; the second deals with the transexual Rebecca de Windsor in the novel Yo no tengo la culpa de haber nacido tan sexi (1997) by Eduardo Mendicutti, and Juan the enfant terrible, transvestite into Zahara in the film La mala educación by Pedro Almodóvar (2004). |
