This character not only becomes June’s arms and legs in Colombia, but also the key to solving the crime. He also provides moral support to the young woman, who takes refuge in her conversations with Javi as a way of coping with what is happening to her. A North-South, South-North relationship is established, in which stereotypes and clichés associated with both the so-called First World and the well-known Third World are broken down. Missing shows that similar situations can occur in both the North and the South, and that human warmth can be found everywhere. Missing (2023) narra la historia de la joven estadounidense June y la incansable búsqueda de su madre, desaparecida en Colombia. Limitada económicamente, recibe ayuda de un colombiano llamado Javi. Este personaje no solo se convierte en los brazos y piernas de June en Colombia, sino que también dará con la pieza clave para poder resolver el crimen. Además, proporciona un apoyo moral a la joven, que se refugia en sus conversaciones con Javi como forma de afrontar lo que le está sucediendo. Se establece una relación Norte-Sur, Sur-Norte, en la que se romperán estereotipos y clichés asociados tanto con el llamado Primer Mundo como con el conocido Tercer Mundo. Missing muestra que se pueden dar situaciones análogas tanto en el Norte como en el Sur, y que la calidez humana la podemos encontrar en cualquier lugar.
