I take into consideration syntactic, semantic and thematic parallelisms between both genres, as well as the characterization of the Pindaric ode as a precious object (ἄγαλµα) fashioned by an artist imbued with a particular skill (σοφία). Finally I study the different actions (dedicate, receive, give) involved in the processes of an object’s consecration to the gods and the ways in which such actions are figured in Pindar´s poems.
