Sumario:This article examines the Hungarian reception of the literary works of four authors of the Latin American boom from the 1960s to the present day. After giving a summary about the situation of publishing books in Hungary in the Communist era until 1990 and then during the democratic period, the work presents the Hungarian editions of the narrative by Gabriel García Márquez, Julio Cortázar, Mario Vargas Llosa and Carlos Fuentes. It details/discusses the presence of these four authors in the pages of Nagyvilág , one of the most prestigious literary magazines of the above-mentioned period, and compares the reviews, and interviews related to them. The article includes a bibliography of the works of the four authors that have been translated into Hungarian.
