Sumario: | This essay addresses the stories of Atahualpa Yupanqui Atahulapa travel to Japan, texts collected in 1977 under the title From the Algarrobo to Cherry, Notes from a trip to the Japanese nation. We analyze the impact of Japan's artistic imagination in Yupanqui’s folk, and the influence of his music in that country, which receives him for the first time in 1964 and where held several longer stays because of his artistic touring. The vision of contemporary Japan that inequalities reflecting their stories are put in perspective with other tokens of Argentine writers and intellectuals in Japan since the first voyage of Eduardo Wilde in 1897. This paper proposes a imagology theoretical approach. |
