Descripción
Sumario:This article describes and analyses the play Víctor. Un canto para alcanzar las estrellas (Víctor. A song for reaching the stars), by the Chilean theater company “La Otra Zapatilla”. It was staged during the 4oth anniversary commemoration of the Chilean civil-military coup d'état and has been on stage since. According to theater and performance studies, it is established that the play supposedly proposes strategies, such as autofiction, temporality dimension and space, that form diverse political scenarios. Each of them reveals a performance dimension: autofiction gives a new meaning to the figure of Víctor Jara through testimonial stories by the performers; temporality ends the chronological representation for the significance of the history, the country, the protagonist’s biography and the performers; the resounding space disturbs the illusion of reality. They have as objective producing the memories of the resistance, by reassuming democratic values, for the present with a future projection.
