Sumario: | The essay analyzes the video work of visual artist Francis Alÿs. From Deleuze's aesthetic-philosophical perspective on cinema, this work proposes an approach to Alÿs's work based on the concept of image-affection. The argument of this article seeks to show that the relationship betwen performance and movement-image generates a paradox between the poetic image and the documentary image, which turns the image into an intensive surface, where affectation matters more than the representation. |
