Descripción
Sumario:This article presents research results of independent publishing practices in the Mexican publishing field of the 21st century. Based on the results of a survey applied to 36 projects identified with this type of publishing, aspects such as editorial structure, economic capital, distribution, marketing and relationship with other actors in the field are studied, with the aim of making a characterization at group level. This characterization allows us to outline what the independence of these actors consists of in a practical sense, what they share and how they differ, in order to reach a better understanding of the phenomenon of current independent publishing as a hierarchical criterion of the Mexican publishing field.
