| Sumario: | This paper studies sociability in the local union sphere and the irruption of gender issues from the perspective of women workers of the Buenos Aires metropolitan railways. I assert that women carry out varied activities usually seen as “assistance” in “the social side”. These forms of participation make up the great railway family repertoire that connects work, family and trade union. Nevertheless, recent times have incorporated new issues associated with gender equality, contributing to new forms of participation. The methodology is based on the content analysis of in-depth interviews and observations. |
