Sumario:The study of the OTAKU group from the theory of Social Identities allows an approach to one of the emerging groups in Cuban society.   The research question is: What characterizes the social identity of a group of OTAKUs in Cuba during the timespan of May-October 2022?  The applied methodology is mixed; the quantitative phase has a non-experimental design, while the qualitative phase has a phenomenological approach. The surveyed population and the sampled belongs to the OTAKU universe. The key result is the characterization of OTAKUs group, whose foremost distinguishing activity is the consumption of content (products) associated to Japanese culture.
