Description
Summary:This paper will analyze how American interference in Central America strengthened what Tulio Halperin Donghi called the Neocolonial Pact. This pact contributed to the deindustrialization, extraversion and low autonomy of the Central American countries. In addition to this, in the context of the Cold War, the US strengthened its undisputed leadership in the region. The article ends with the Irangate scandal, irrefutable proof of US intervention in Nicaragua.
