Descripción
Sumario:This paper establishes, using archival material, the academic trajectory of Luis Juan Guerrero (1899-1957) from his return to Argentina in 1928, after having obtained a PhD. in Philosophy at the University of Zurich, until the beginning of 1930. It examines the subject matter of the courses and lectures he gave during this period at the universities of Buenos Aires and La Plata, focusing on his interest in phenomenology, the “critical ontology” of Nicolai Hartmann and the existential analysis of Martin Heidegger. It analyses the content of his first lessons on Aesthetics and, together with other previously unpublished documents, it features, for the first time, a text by Francisco Romero about Guerrero’s research on the determination of moral values and various testimonies of his relationship with José Ortega y Gasset during the Spanish philosopher’s visit to Argentina in 1929.
