Sumario: | A quality of life index is an indicator that seeks to show in summary form a set of socio-economic, demographic, and environmental variables considered relevant at a given historical moment. In this context, the purpose of this work is to elaborate a Quality of Life index from different data sources for the provinces of the Argentine Republic at the time of the National Population Census carried out in 1980. The varied cartography obtained shows important territorial inequalities for the provinces of the country. On the one hand, the places with the best quality of life are the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, some districts in the North of the Metropolitan Area and the province of Buenos Aires plus capitals of provinces located in relatively more developed regions (Cuyo and Patagonia), other Pampean areas (Córdoba, Santa Fe) and their adjacent areas. On the other hand, the lowest values are in structurally poor regions in the North of the country. |
