Sumario:The regions of Campanha Gaúcha and Campos de Cima da Serra are the new "terroirs" of viticulture in the Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. Wine tourism has been consolidating in these regions that already collect renowned wines and are awarded for their qualities. At the same time, the two regions have been seeking prominence in the national and international markets through the search for quality with the geographical indication of their wines. This research aims to analyze how wine tourism is consolidating in these two regions of Rio Grande do Sul and to analyze their perspectives about regional development. This investigation was based on field trips, interviews with participants from this sector in the regions, and qualitative analysis. The results show that wine tourism is still incipient in these regions and that the quality of its wines and this tourism sector has increasing potential for the regional development of these two regions that have socioeconomic indexes below the state average. At the same time, it is also clear that some actors in society are also excluded from this process.
