Descripción
Sumario:This article studies the evolution of one of the regional economies that is developed in the Northeast of the province of Santa Fe: the rice. It does so in the context of the unbalanced territory which is one of the main characteristics in this province. It shows the productive, economic and social divisions between the north and the south of the province. With a historical focus, this article tries to analyse the development and evolution of the rice production in Santa Fe, together with its griding and exporting processes since 1990’s economic model (Convertibility) until the present. It digs into the impact of the macroeconomic changes on the development of the production of rice, its present status and its future.
