Descripción
Sumario:Agricultural activities generate a great impact on natural ecosystems, causing profound changes, especially on the land resource, depending on the productive characteristics and multi-scale and hierarchical processes. This article analyzes the relationships between social factors and soil degradation processes, considering temporary evolutionary cuts in the General Deheza Basin, Córdoba. A mixed methodological development and parallel designs are proposed, to unite the criteria and methods of the social and natural sciences. The social processes and soil degradation were analyzed through the indicators of land use and management, technological systems and land possession. These are related to the socio-political processes of larger scales, which has an influence in productive decisions, and the processes of physical and chemical degradation of the soil at a local scale. Results corroborate that the process of soil degradation is related to the evolution of social factors in the agricultural system of the General Deheza Basin, Córdoba. The study of time periods, based on historical processes, enable the characterization of soil degradation and its causes at each stage.
