Hers is a work that crosses different themes and geographies, always rehearsing new ways to visualize and deepen its Andean roots. In this paper we propose an approach to La Wik'uña (1990), the first book of the author published in Chile, where the pre-Columbian legacy is explored through the recovery of symbols, words, rituals and beliefs of the Inca, Quechua and Guarani cultures. It is a text that, as clarified in a final note by the author, was created together with the essay Abstract Stone. The Inca sculpture: a contemporary vision (1989) of the artist César Paternosto (La Plata, 1931), by then her husband. Our aim is to explore the contact zones between visuality, materiality and writing in the compositions of La Wik'uña through the examination of a series of images and strategies that converge in a "visual- tactile semiotics" of poetry, analogous to the one that Paternosto recognized in Inca architecture. Poeta, performer y artista visual transnacional, Cecilia Vicuña (Santiago de Chile, 1948) ha desarrollado una obra multifacética en la que destaca la experimentación con los más diversos materiales, registros y formatos. Su obra atraviesa distintas temáticas y geografías, siempre ensayando nuevos caminos para visibilizar y profundizar sus raíces andinas. En este trabajo proponemos un acercamiento a La Wik’uña (1990), el primer poemario de la autora editado en Chile, donde se explora el legado precolombino a través de la recuperación de símbolos, palabras, rituales y creencias de las culturas incas, quechuas y guaraníes. Se trata de un texto que, como lo aclara una nota final de la autora, se gestó junto al ensayo Piedra abstracta. La escultura inca: una visión contemporánea (1989) del artista César Paternosto (La Plata, 1931), por entonces su esposo. El objetivo del trabajo es explorar las zonas de contacto entre visualidad, materialidad y escritura que manifiestan las composiciones de La Wik’uña a través del examen de una serie de imágenes y estrategias que confluyen en una "semiótica visual-táctil" de la poesía, análoga a la que Paternosto advirtió en la arquitectura incaica.
