Secondly, it is also made clear that the mentioned compendium also contained an extensive Christian doctrine (catechism, confessional, talks on the sacraments, etc.) as reviewers pointed out. In addition, through a comparative work and the handling of some primary and secondary sources related with this and the “compendium for intelligence for the Tarahumara language”, published in 1826 by Fray Miguel Tellechea, the author concludes that the “Christian doctrine and talks” written in Tarahumar and Spanish, contained in the seventeenth century document, the whereabouts of which we do not know, can be found most likely intact, in the 19th century compendium. El presente artículo aclara, en primer lugar, que el Compendio de la lengua de los tarahumares y guazapares, escrito por el jesuita Thomas de Guadalaxara y publicado en 1683, del cual conocemos únicamente los cinco libros de gramática, no solo contenía “la poesía, vocabulario tarahumar y castellano, y un glosario de términos de parentesco”, como se ha afirmado. En segundo lugar, también se aclara que dicho compendio contenía, además, una extensa doctrina cristiana (catecismo, confesionario, pláticas sobre los sacramentos, etc.), como señalaron sus revisores. Asimismo, mediante un trabajo comparativo, con el manejo de algunas fuentes primarias y secundarias relacionadas con este y el compendio para la inteligencia del idioma tarahumara, publicado en 1826 por fray Miguel Tellechea, el autor concluye que la “doctrina cristiana y las pláticas” escritas en tarahumar y castellano, contenidas en el documento del siglo XVII y de las cuales no se conoce su paradero, pueden encontrarse, muy probablemente íntegras, en el compendio del siglo XIX.
