Sumario:This article explores the aesthetic ideas that physicists use in the process of searching for the laws of nature. The concept of symmetry is identified as the most important in the aesthetics of physicists, and its power is stressed, but also its limitations. It is finally suggested that only through the dialogue of the sciences with the humanities can the aesthetic ideas of physicists be refined.
