Forensic anthropology has proven to be a useful discipline to provide relevant information in the clarification of judicial cases, both in the identification and study of skeletal skeletal remains and in the search for missing persons. The four morgues of the province of Mendoza (of the four Judicial Circumscriptions) lack specialists in forensic anthropology. For this reason, the study of the remains deposited there have not been deepened. Through this project, it is proposed to study, from a forensic anthropological point of view, the unidentified bone remains (NN) deposited in the morgues of the province. Based on the detailed analysis of the remains, an osteobiographic record of each individual will be constructed with which it will be unified in a general database. At the same time, information will be gathered from the prosecutors about people who are missing, as well as a call to the community so that all those who have a missing family member or acquaintance will bring us useful information. In this way, another database will be built with information on people who are being searched. Finally, a comparison will be made between both databases to make a selection of possible matching cases that will be collated by DNA analysis.This project will be carried out by professors-researchers specialized in bioanthropology of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National University of Cuyo. They will also participate as teaching collaborators and graduates of the Faculties of Education, Law and Medical Sciences of UNCuyo. Students of the Bachelor of Archeology (FFyL, UNCuyo) will participate as interns in the laboratory tasks and interviews. On the other hand, there will be the collaboration of the staff (doctors and medical assistants) of the Forensic Medical Body of the Judicial Power of the province of Mendoza. It is worth mentioning that this project was launched in May 2018 from the agreement signed between Dr. Adolfo Cueto from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters UNCuyo and Abog. Alejandro Gullé Attorney General of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Mendoza, director and co-director of this project La antropología forense ha demostrado ser una disciplina útil para aportar información relevante en el esclarecimiento de casos judiciales, tanto en la identificación y estudio de restos óseos esqueletizados como en la búsqueda de personas desaparecidas. Las cuatro morgues de la provincia de Mendoza (de las cuatro Circunscripciones Judiciales) carecen de especialistas en antropología forense. Por esta razón, el estudio de los restos allí depositados no han sido profundizados. Mediante este proyecto se propone estudiar desde un punto de vista antropológico forense los restos óseos no indentificados (NN) depositados en las morgues de la provincia. A partir del análisis pormenorizado de los restos se construirá una ficha osteobiográfica de cada individuo con la que se unificará en una base de datos general. Paralelamente, se recopilará información de las fiscalías sobre personas que estén desaparecidas así como también se hará un llamado a la comunidad para que todas aquellas personas que tengan a un familiar o conocido desaparecido nos acerquen información de utilidad. De esta manera se construirá otra base de datos con información de personas que estén siendo buscadas. Finalmente, se hará una comparación entre ambas bases de datos para hacer una selección de posibles casos coincidentes que serán cotejados mediante análisis de ADN. Este proyecto será llevado a cabo por docentes-investigadores especialistas en bioantropología del Instituto de Arqueología y Etnología de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. También participarán como colaboradores docentes y graduados de la Facultades de Educación, Derecho y Ciencias Médicas de la UNCuyo. Participarán como pasantes en las tareas de laboratorio y entrevistas estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Arqueología (FFyL, UNCuyo). Por otra parte, se contará con la colaboración del personal (médicos y ayudantes médicos) del Cuerpo Médico Forense del Poder Judicial de la provincia de Mendoza. Vale aclarar que este proyecto fue puesto en marcha desde mayo de 2018 a partir del acuerdo firmado entre el Dr. Adolfo Cueto por parte de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNcuyo y el Abog. Alejandro Gullé Procurador General del Ministerio Público Fiscal de Mendoza, director y co-director de este proyecto. |
