In this review we will address the molecular characteristics of the virus pathogenesis, and iwe will determine the types of diagnosis and treatment according to do to the scientific reports available so far. La enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) es un tipo de neumonía viral originada en Wuhan, China, en diciembre de 2019, que es causada por el coronavirus 2 del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV-2). La aparición del SARS-CoV-2 se ha marcado como la tercera introducción de un coronavirus altamente patógeno en la población humana después del coronavirus del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV) y el coronavirus del síndrome respiratorio del Medio Oriente (MERS-CoV) en el siglo XXI. Hasta el momento el SARS-CoV-2 ha causado casi 63 millones de infectados a nivel mundial, y más de 1,5 millones de muertes, provocando una crisis global tanto sanitaria como económica. En esta revisión abordaremos las características moleculares del virus, de la patogenia, y discutiremos los tipos de diagnóstico y tratamiento de acuerdo a los reportes científicos disponibles hasta el momento. |
