Sumario:Hereditary gingival fibromatosis is associated with families with hearing loss, hypertelorism, supernumerary teeth and dental malposition. In some cases and as part of syndromes, the presence of epilepsy, learning difficulties and sensory loss have been observed (3,4). Oral manifestations include gingival enlargement of slow growth, firm, asymptomatic consistency, pink and nodular appearance with exaggerated stippling and absence of bleeding, generating functional and aesthetic problems (1,2). Histological features include mainly connective tissue with a dense infiltrate rich in collagen fibers and a dense epithelium with long epithelial papillae. Histological findings are nonspecific and it is important for the definitive diagnosis to perform adequate medical history(1,4,5,6).
