Sumario: | During the 1990s, the neoliberal model changed the patterns of the economic
structure and its social base. Instead of industrial production, fanancial speculation
becam the organizationaI principle of thee economy. Although at the begining
of the decade and between 1996-1997, the economy had high level of growth,
this produced little impact on the industrial activities and deteriorated the Iabor
market indicators. The structure of the economy could not generate employment.
Several studies try the hypothesis of a process of fragmentation/heterogeneity
and segmentation of the occupational structure as a consequence of these
economic and social policies which affected different occupational groups
producing gender differentials. In the empirical and theoretical context, this
research advanced in the knowledge of the characteristics of this phenomenon
in Mendoza, with the aim of analyzing the occupational structure of the labor
market during 1992-2002, considerating the different phase of the economic
cycle. Also, describing the distinctive forms according to gender and related with
labor market entering conditions, labor opportunities and how the demand leads
to the fragmentation of the labor force. |
