Sumario: | This paper presents the results of an analysis of a bone assemblage recovered in a domestic context from the Colonial period (16th–18th centuries) at the site Laqaya in the altiplano of Lípez (Potosi, Bolivia). We discuss the possible presence of domestic species introduced by Europeans, variation in the consumption of wild and domestic camelids, and to a lesser extent, whether there were changes in herd management practices. The results show an absence of animals introduced by Spanish conquest, highlighting a strong presence of camelids, and among camelids, a predominance of wild camelids, especially vicuñas. |
