Descripción
Sumario:The article refers to metallurgical workshops founded by European immigrants in Mendoza who were suppliers of goods and services to the provincial government between 1895 and 1914. These workshops are mainly related to demands of the expansion and modernization of artificial irrigation system on Mendoza northern oasis, where the wine model rooted more strongly in the considered period. We examined existing sources in the Archivo General de la Provincia de Mendoza (folders of public works during the independent period, notarial records) and records related to irrigation water, existing on archives of Departamento General de Irrigación.
