Sumario:This work is developed within the framework of the project "Towards Sustainable Development: Culture, Environment, Healthy Environments and Vivid Spaces Maipú, Mendoza", corresponding to the National University of Cuyo (code 06/G075-B). The area of study is the city of Maipú in the north of the homonymous province Inhabitants’ identity is analyzed, according to which the city of Maipú is the place where they livelinked to the environment, their soil, their land. The environment is full of history and culture where heritage is essential to unravel its identity and to promote tourism in the place, our objectives are: 1) characterizing locals’ identity Maipú’s city. 2) Identifying and valuing Maipu’s City heritage and tourist sites. We adopted a qualitative methodology where inductive and hypothetical-deductive methods are alternated, with handling of qualitative and quantitative data.It is prioritized the information gotten by doing 30 surveys to locals. . The first results indicate that the inhabitants recognize the district as their homeland; they could see the importance and diversity of its patrimonial assets and value the importance of the tourist potential.
