Descripción
Sumario:This article addresses the topic regarding education and evaluation of university teachers, emphasizing the perspective of teachers from an Argentine national university. The Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina, is taken as a case study.Through a mixed methodological approach, the perspectives of teachers from different disciplinary fields are recovered through 21 semi-structured interviews and a survey made with 521 teachers of the institution in 2020. In addition, interviews were conducted with key informants of the trade union sector and the Pedagogical Consultancy of the UNS, the documentary analysis of regulations and institutional evaluation reports were used. The results show the achievements, limitations and challenges that come from the education and evaluation processes, the demands for pedagogical training of teachers and the evaluation criteria that overestimate the research activity. The analysis shows the institutional responsibility that corresponds to universities in such processes and the difficulty of reaching a regulation that contemplates the heterogeneity of university teaching activity.
