Adelaide nella vita Mathildis di Donizone e nella gesta Ottonis imperatoris di Rosvita INFANTE GONZÁLEZ, Alessandra Paola Adelaide Dionize Rosvita Ottone I Azzo Adelaide Dionize Hrotsvitha Otto I Atto This work analyzes the figure of Adelaide in the works "Vita Mathildis" of Donizo and "Gesta Ottonis imperatoris" of Hrotsvitha, in particular, the scene where she escapes of Berengar, that had imprisioned her after the death of her husband Lotar. Studying about the life and the historical context of the authors, the preface and the prologue that open the works and, posteriorly, the particular vision that both have abouth the story of Adelaide; we can look different points of view: On one side, Donizo makes Adelaide a passive actress of her story, taking the lead Canossa as the place of the story, together with the figure of Atto of Canossa, a character who only it’s present in his work. From another side, Hrotsvitha makes Adelaide the real protagonist of her story, able to survive and win thanks to the divine miracle. Questo lavoro analizza la figura di Adelaide nelle opere "Vita Mathildis" di Donizone e "Gesta Ottonis imperatoris" di Rosvita, in particolare, la scena in cui fugge da Berengario, che la aveva imprigionata dopo la morte di suo marito Lotario. Analizzando la vita e contesto storico degli autori, la prefazione e prologo che aprono le opere e, posteriormente, la visione particolare che hanno sulla vicenda di Adelaide; si vede come lo sguardo degli autori sia diverso: Da un lato, Donizone fa di Adelaide un’attrice passiva dell’atto, prendendo il protagonismo Canossa come luogo della storia, insieme alla figura di Azzo di Canossa, personaggio soltanto presente nella sua opera. D'altro lato, Rosvita fa di Adelaide la vera protagonista della propria vicenda, capace di sopravvivere e vincere grazie al miracolo divino.
