In the beginning the article exposes the geometry of the pyramid and the naturalism of sculpted figures: the ideas of the German historian about the presumed lack of feelings and artificiality of a culture. Towards the end it focuses on the Egyptian vegetal column and discusses the possible links with the realm of the private and the artistic fantasy. The article provides, as a conclusion, a way of seeing the writing of Worringer from the XXI century. En “El arte egipcio” (1927), Wilhelm Worringer, aplicó una gran parte de sus teorías formalistas- y ciertamente bajo una lógica binaria- para el abordaje de antiguas manifestaciones estéticas. Al inicio el artículo pone en escena la geometría de la pirámide y el naturalismo de las figuras esculpidas: las ideas del historiador alemán sobre la presunta falta de sentimientos y artificialidad de una cultura. Hacia el final coloca en la mira la columna vegetal egipcia y debate los posibles vínculos con la esfera de lo íntimo y la fantasía artística. El artículo aporta, además, a modo de cierre, la posible mirada del escrito worringeriano desde el siglo XXI.
