In addition to the above, we will make a theoretical-conceptual proposal on the importance of the study of autoﬁction as a significant part of contemporary literature and literary studies. We will try to answer: what is the relationship that autofiction mantains with literature or the testimony? Which ways are subjective, the "writings or literature of the self" and autofiction interrelated? What relationship do fiction and the creative imagination, with the autobiographical story and other types of referential discourse, as affirmations about the self and the world that surrounds us? El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en proporcionar una introducción teórica general a la autoﬁcción, rastreando la historia del concepto, sus límites y variantes, analizando autoﬁcciones mexicanas de los siglos XX y XXI y explicando dentro de una perspectiva diacrónica los rasgos más característicos de la autoﬁcción. Aunado a lo anterior, haremos una propuesta teórico-conceptual sobre la importancia del estudio de la autoﬁcción como parte significativa de la literatura y los estudios literarios contemporáneos. Intentaremos contestar: ¿cuál es la relación que guarda la autoficción con la literatura o el relato testimonial?, ¿de qué manera se interrelacionan la subjetividad, las “escrituras o literatura del yo” y la autoficción?, ¿qué relación guardan la ficción y la imaginación creativa, con el relato autobiográfico y otros tipos de discurso referencial, en tanto aﬁrmaciones sobre el yo y el mundo que nos circunda?
