It is the intention of this article to communicate some advances of a doctoral thesis work, which addresses the ways and practices of political participation that unfold in the province of San Juan during the first period as governor of Gioja, coinciding with the Kirchner presidency, between 2003-2007. It is intended to address a discussion not only inherent to the academic field, but of interest to the social actors of politics.The analysis starts in two dimensions, the economic structure and its manifestations in the political superstructure, trying to answer some questions about the social and political construction of that moment. What are the breaks and / or continuities with the previous model of political construction? What are the characteristics of the genesis and structuring of political participation during that time, in the broad block of the Front for Victory? Was Kirchnerism a movement substantially different from traditional forms of politics? How was this phenomenon in San Juan? Entre los intelectuales del campo político existe la perspectiva de que durante el denominado Kirchnerismo la participación política fue inusualmente activa, no tanto con un signo de protesta sino de adhesión y compromiso con el proceso impulsado por el gobierno. Es intención de este articulo comunicar algunos avances de un trabajo de tesis doctoral, que aborda los modos y las prácticas de participación política que se despliegan en la provincia de San Juan durante el primer periodo como gobernador de Gioja, coincidente con la presidencia de Kirchner, entre el 2003-2007. Se pretende abordar una discusión no solo inherente al campo académico, sino de interés para los actores sociales de la política. El análisis parte en dos dimensiones, la estructura económica y sus manifestaciones en la superestructura política, intentando responder algunos interrogantes sobre la construcción social y política del ese momento, ¿Cuáles son las rupturas y/o continuidades con el modelo de construcción política anterior?, ¿Cuáles son las características de la génesis y estructuración de la participación política durante ese momento, en el amplio bloque del Frente para la Victoria? ¿Fue el kirchnerismo un movimiento sustancialmente distinto a las formas tradicionales de la política? ¿Cómo fue este fenómeno en San Juan?
